(Englewood, CO) — The NFL is suspending another player for violating the league’s policy on gambling. The NFL announced Monday that Denver Broncos defensive end Eyioma Uwazurike has been suspended indefinitely. Uwazurike can for reinstatement in July of 2024 and will miss all of next season. The 25-year-old bet on NFL games during the 2022 season, according to the league. Uwazurike becomes the 10th player suspended by the NFL this year for violations of its gambling policy.

(Henderson, NV) — The Raiders are making a major addition to their secondary. Las Vegas signed cornerback Marcus Peters to a one-year deal on Monday. Peters recorded 47 tackles and a career-low one interception through 13 games with the Baltimore Ravens last season. The three-time Pro Bowler returned after missing all of the 2021 season with a torn ACL. The 30-year-old Peters will look to boost a Raiders’ defense that recorded an NFL-worst six interceptions last season.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The fourth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft is officially a member of the Colts. On Monday, Indianapolis agreed to terms on a four-year, 33.99-million-dollar fully guaranteed deal with rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. The contract includes a 21.72-million-dollar signing bonus paid entirely up front, and also includes a fifth-year option. The 21-year-old started 13 games for Florida in 2022 and finished the season with 3,105 yards and 24 touchdowns through the air to go along with 1,116 yards and 12 scores on the ground. In addition to signing Richardson, cornerback JuJu Brents and offensive tackle Blake Freeland also agreed to their rookie deals. Brents was selected with the 44th overall pick out of Kansas State and Freeland was taken 106th overall out of BYU.

(Green Bay, WI) — The Green Bay Packers are giving a timeframe to decide if their new quarterback is worth investing in. Team president Mark Murphy told the media on Monday that Jordan Love will get “at least” a half a season to prove himself. Murphy compared the first year of Aaron Rodgers who took over at quarterback for Brett Favre and said, “Even though we ended up with a losing record that year… we saw enough of Aaron to know we had something special.” The Pack extended Rodgers midway through his first season as a starter and he finished with over four-thousand yards to go with 28 touchdowns. Love was extended in the offseason with a contract that runs through 2024. The Utah State gunslinger was selected 26th overall by Green Bay in the 2020 draft.

(Buffalo, NY) — The Bills are losing a key special teamer to a freak accident. ESPN reports running back and returner Nyheim Hines suffered a season-ending injury to his left ACL after being struck by a jet ski. Hines reportedly was sitting on a stationary jet ski when he was hit and will eventually need surgery on his knee. The 26-year-old led Buffalo with 16 punt returns and 19 kick returns last season, while also playing a minor role on offense. Hines is expected to be healthy ahead of the 2024 season.
