(Cooperstown, NY) — The National Baseball Hall of Fame officially has two new members. First baseman Fred McGriff and third baseman Scott Rolen were each inducted into Cooperstown on Sunday. McGriff joins the Hall of Fame after being elected unanimously by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee. McGriff notably won a World Series title with the Atlanta Braves during the 1995 season and was a five-time All-Star. Rolen helped the St. Louis Cardinals capture the 2006 World Series and becomes the 12th Hall of Famer to feature a Cardinals logo on his Hall plaque. Rolen was voted into the Hall of Fame in his sixth year of eligibility.

(Milwaukee, WI) — The Braves finished their stay in Milwaukee with a win. Atlanta defeated the Brewers 4-2 in the series finale yesterday at American Family Field. Ozzie Albies hit his 23rd homer of the season with a three-run shot in the eighth inning to propel Atlanta to the win. Daysbel Hernandez earned his first win, while Raisel Iglesias recorded his 18th save. The Braves have won three-of-four and sit atop the NL East at 64-and-34. They will travel to take on the Boston Red Sox for the start of a new two-game set tomorrow night.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cardinals allowed five runs in the bottom of the third during a 7-2 loss to the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Jordan Montgomery was tagged with his eighth loss after surrendering five earned runs and two unearned runs in six innings of work. Nolan Arenado had three hits in the losing effort, while Dylan Carlson drove in both of the Cardinals runs. St. Louis remains in fourth place in the NL Central at 44-and-56. Adam Wainwright returns from the injured list to start against the Diamondbacks tonight in Arizona.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds extended their winning streak following a sweep of the Diamondbacks in Cincinnati. Christian Encarnacion-Strand went two-for-three and drove in a pair of runs as Cincy edged Arizona 7-3 at Great American Ballpark. Derek Law earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning of relief. Cincinnati has won five straight games trails the Brewers for first place in the NL Central by half-a-game. The Reds are in Milwaukee tonight for the first of three games.
