A Hopkinsville man is facing charges of kidnapping and wanton endangerment following investigation into a woman being held against her will on South Fowler Street Sunday morning.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department report, 28-year-old Devon Williamson had the two victims come to his residence to question them about some stolen items, and then upon their arrival proceeded to allegedly locked them in the house. He reportedly made them put down their items, in which he reportedly believed he had seen his stolen property.
Williamson reportedly became agitated would not allow the female victim to leave, though he did let the male victim leave as he ‘had no issue’ with him. Williamson allegedly fired a gunshot into the kitchen floor and told the female victim he ‘would blow her away’ if she did not sit down.
Officers responded to the scene and took Williamson into custody, charging him with first-degree kidnapping of an adult, first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.
A search of the residence reportedly revealed a handgun that matched the gun described by both victims, and Williamson was additionally charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
