It’s definitely going to feel like summer this week, as typical July weather settles into the region with warm temperatures and an occasional chance for a pop-up thunderstorm.
On the weather conference call Monday, Forecaster Andy Lesage with the National Weather Service in Paducah says they’re not expecting widespread severe weather at this time and temperatures will linger in the 90’s through the week.
The drought monitor still labels most of the area as being ‘abnormally dry’, but Lesage says he fully expects that to change as they factor in the recent rainfall.
Next week is looking average for precipitation, but leaning above normal for temperatures, as some of that intense heat to our west starts sliding into the region.
