It will be the first time that the U.S. Women’s National Team has gone head-to-head against Vietnam. The U.S. will also face off against Portugal and the Netherlands in Group E play. Team USA is going for its third straight Women’s World Cup title.

Martin Truex Jr. is going for back-to-back wins after earning a victory in the Crayon 301 from Loudon. The driver of the number-19 car dominated the race, leading for over 80-percent of the contest. Truex Jr. is first in the Cup Series standings while Will Byron, Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch round out the top five. The green flag waves from Pocono Raceway on Sunday.

(Undated) — A journeyman NHL forward is hanging up his skates for good. Nate Thompson announced on Thursday he’s retiring from the league in a social media post. The 38-year-old last played for the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2021-22 season and spent time with eight other teams in his 15-year career. The Anchorage, Alaska native was originally selected by the Boston Bruins in the sixth round of the 2003 draft. He then made stops with the New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, Los Angeles Kings, Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets. Thompson scored 65 goals and had 164 points over 844 games.
