Local man charged with third-degree criminal child abuse

A Hopkinsville man is facing a count of third-degree criminal abuse after a 3-month-old was injured when falling off a changing table.

According to the report from Hopkinsville police, Antrone Hollowell of Hopkinsville allegedly placed a 3-month-old infant on a 3-foot high changing table while he went to the bathroom.  During that time, the infant fell of the table and onto the floor.  Hollowell reportedly stated that the child had red marks, but he did not tell anyone about the incident.

He was reportedly later confronted by the child’s mother for bruises on the child, and the infant was taken to the hospital.  Two hospitals determined through testing that the child had a fractured skull.

Hollowell was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal abuse.
