The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after an unknown suspect pulled the ATM off of the building of United Southern Bank in Crofton over the weekend.
According to a news release, deputies responded to United Southern Bank early Sunday morning after receiving reports of property damage and money stolen. Investigation revealed that at around 5 a.m. Sunday, an unknown suspect stole a pick-up truck from the Crofton area and then used it to hook up to an ATM in front of the bank.
They then pulled the ATM off its pedestal, broke into the machine and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. Both the truck and the ATM were still on scene when officers arrived.
No arrests have been made at this time, but anyone with information on the incident is asked to called 270-890-1300 and ask for Detective Luis Palmer.
