A head-on collision on East Ninth Street near the Dollar General Sent three people to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for injuries Friday afternoon.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Jason Willis of Hopkinsville was heading east when he attempted to throw a cigarette out his window, but the cigarette came back into the vehicle with him. Willis lost control of the vehicle and swerved into oncoming traffic, striking an automobile operated by 61-year-old Todd Turner of Clarksville head on.
Both vehicles sustained severe damage. Both Turner and Willis, along with 30-year-old Charles McCord who was a passenger in Willis’ vehicle, were transported to Jennie Stuart for treatment of injuries.
Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
