Kentucky starts national competition off strong beating Team Germany

The Kentucky Wildcats are preparing for their upcoming season by taking on national competition.

UK is representing the USA at the GLOBL Jam 2023 event in Toronto, Canada.

The team started action on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated Team Germany 81-73.

The Wildcats were led in scoring by returner Antonio Reeves with 24 points and West Virginia transfer Tre Mitchell faired well scoring 20 points.

Kentucky has been widely known this offseason as having the number one recruiting class and freshman DJ Wagner helped support that claim, after scoring 16 points and dishing out six dimes. Fellow freshman Justin Edwards also collected a team-high nine rebounds.

The Cats will be back in action Thursday night as they will take on the hometown heroes in Team Canada in Toronto with coverage starting at 6:30 PM on 98.7 Lite FM.

The game will have a delayed TV broadcast, so radio will be the only live coverage.
