The Pennyrile Area Development District Board of Directors passed a budget for the upcoming fiscal year at Monday’s monthly meeting.
Presenting the budget, Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton who serves as treasurer for the board, says that this spending plan did include a four percent cost-of-living raise for employees, some added positions in departments and an increase in health insurance costs.
He says the budget for the Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living saw an increase to their budget, while Workforce Development saw a decrease in revenues.
Cotton says this budget reflects more revenues than expenditures.
The Board of Directors approved the spending plan. In other action, the board approved amendment to the bylaws, which allows PADD to email out board notices instead of also having to utilize the postal service.
