Two Eddyville residents charged following disturbance, pursuit in Lyon Co.

A pair of Eddyville residents are facing numerous charges following investigation into a disturbance that led to a slow-speed pursuit in Lyon County Thursday.

According to a news release from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a disturbance on Jennifer Lane around 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, a male suspect identified as 48-year-old Phillip Young II of Eddyville put two children in his vehicle and fled the scene. The vehicle was located, but Young reportedly ignored emergency equipment and a pursuit began.

The slow-speed pursuit continued on KY 93 South and KY 274 before getting to a residence north of the Trigg County line and after a brief standoff, Young exited the vehicle.  A taser was deployed to bring him into custody, as he continued to attempt to flee.

Young was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, DUI second offense, resisting arrest and failure to wear seat belts. He was later additionally charged with strangulation against a child and fourth-degree assault.

A total of four children were temporarily removed from the home by DCBS.
