Eddyville Riverport to receive $184k grant

The Eddyville Riverport is one of four Kentucky riverports that will receive grant funding for infrastructure improvements.

According to a news release, $184,000 will go to the Eddyville Riverport and Industrial Development Authority, to go toward the purchase of an excavator. That will provide redundancy for material loading/unloading and to help expand operations.

The Paducah-McCracken County Riverport is also receiving some those funds—approximately $30,500 of it, to go towards a new truck scale, along with widening and adding access drives for more efficient truck movement.

The funding, which was legislatively appropriated and must be locally matched, was awarded for six separate projects at four riverports.
