Grand jury returns indictments for assault, complicity to attempted robbery

A Christian County Grand Jury returned an indictment for assault against a woman who allegedly stabbed a man in the back.

Indicted for second-degree assault is 27-year-old Earlesia Montgomery of Hopkinsville—she is accused of using a knife to stab her 26-year-old then boyfriend in the back during an argument in May of 2023.  The victim’s injuries were described as minor on a police report.

Indicted for complicity to attempted first-degree robbery is 30-year-old Kaneesha Powell of Clarksville.  In January, she allegedly used or threatened to use physical force on the owner of Superior Paint and Body Shop during the act of committing a theft.
