Christian Co. land auctioned, benefits Lipscomb University

Land in Christian County has been successfully auctioned and will directly benefit Lipscomb University in Nashville.

According to a news release, the Mason and Williams Land Team of Whitetail Properties Land Specialists—specifically the Ranch and Farm Auctions division—facilitated the auction and registered over 40 potential buyers before the auction went live.

The property was gifted to Lipscomb University by a private donor, and leaders decided the best way to maximize that gift was to sell it and use the money to better the school and students who go there. The nearly 355 acres of land in northern Christian County sold for $1.4 million. Five tracts of the acres were sold to four separate buyers, bringing in more than the property’s appraised value.

Specialist Mark Williams says, “We were able to help out a university and a private family, and we can’t wait to host more auctions in western Kentucky. One of the things that sets us apart from other auction companies is our auction style. We prefer the buyer’s choice format rather than multi-parcel. The result is an easier-to-understand auction and more control to the high bidders.”
