The area will get a brief break from storm and rain chances to start the week, but the possibilities return Wednesday and linger through to the weekend.
Forecaster Rachel Trevino with the National Weather Service in Paducah says Monday and the Fourth of July seem mostly dry, with a chance of pop-up rain and thunder showers the evening of the holiday.
Our next chance for severe weather does return Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening, with Trevino saying it’s too soon to have the finer details, so she’s urges people to stay weather aware.
Some places got a lot of rain over the last few days, while others saw very little, so the drought monitor continues to show most of the area in ‘abnormally dry’ conditions—Trevino says folks will have a chance to get that rain heading into the weekend.
In the long term forecast, it’s looking like temperatures might be below average next week, with average precipitation.
