Local man charged with human trafficking

A Hopkinsville man has been charged with human trafficking following investigation by the Hopkinsville Police Department.

According to the arrest warrant, 24-year-old Dakota Walker of Hopkinsville allegedly intentionally subjected the victim—who is under 18-year-old—to engaging in commercial sexual activity between November 2022 and April of 2023.

Investigation determined that Walker and the victim made contact via SnapChat, with sexual activity taking place over FaceTime. From there, they reportedly met in person where Walker allegedly offered the victim money, narcotics and alcohol in exchange for sex. He allegedly urged her to sneak out of her house and would transport her to a different location to have sex.

Walker reportedly tried to get the victim to recruit her friend—a juvenile of similar age—to also engage in sexual acts and offered to pay $700.

Walker was arrested and charged with human trafficking commercial sex activities involving a victim under 18 years of age and promoting human trafficking.
