Hopkinsville woman charged with fentanyl trafficking, auto theft

A Hopkinsville woman is facing numerous charges following investigating into a stolen vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to the area of East 18th street after a Flock security camera detected a vehicle that was reported stolen of Owensboro.  The vehicle was located at a Locust Street residence and contact was made with 21-year-old Jakiyah Hinton of Hopkinsville.  She reportedly stated that she had been operating the vehicle.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the residence, and it reportedly revealed just over 150 blue pills that were suspected to be fentanyl, include crushed fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia. Also located was a handgun and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Hinton was arrested and charged with felony auto theft, trafficking in fentanyl derivatives, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving a stolen firearm and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
