Elkton Rotary Club hosting 5K and Fun Run to help provide shoes to local students in need

The Rotary Club of Elkton is bringing a 5K race to Todd County in July, all in an effort to raise enough money to buy 200 pairs of shoes for local students.

Rotary is partnering with the Todd County Family Resource and Youth Services Centers and the Happy Feet program, who estimate they need 200 pairs of shoes for kids in need. Rotary President Tiffany Groves says they’ll host the first Firecracker 5K and Fun Run on July 15 to raise funds to meet that need—registration is $30 per adult and $15 for students.

The deadline to register is July 5 and if you don’t want to take part in the 5K, your registration acts as a donation to the cause.

Groves says they wanted to support a good cause while bringing a fun event to the community.

You can register by going to the Rotary Club of Elkton Facebook page and clicking the link under their post about the event.
