(Omaha, NE)  — Four teams remain in the hunt for the 2023 Men’s College World Series title.  Fifth-seeded LSU used a dominant performance on the mound to shutout SEC rival Tennessee 5-0 and advance to the semifinals.  The Tigers will duel top-seeded Wake Forest today for a spot in the championship series.  They will need to defeat the Demon Deacons twice in order to advance.  In other action, TCU cruised over Oral Roberts 6-1 to move one step closer to the first national title in program history.  The Horned Frogs will take on second-seeded Florida in the semifinals today.  The Big 12 tournament champions will need to beat the Gators two times to clinch a spot in the CWS championship.

 

>>Kings G-League Team Hires Women Head Coach And GM

 

(Sacramento, CA)  — The Sacramento Kings organization is making history.  The team announced on Tuesday its G-League affiliate has hired Lindsey Harding as the new head coach and Anjali Ranadive [[ rahn-ah-dee-vay ]] as the general manager.  It’s the first time in G-League history that two women will take over the coach and GM roles.  Harding will lead the Stockton Kings after spending four seasons as an assistant and player development coach with the pro team.  She also spent time on the Philadelphia 76ers’ staff.  Ranadive is the daughter of Kings owner Vivek and worked as Stockton’s assistant general manager last season.  She also had an internship with the Golden State Warriors.

 

>>Report: Kyle Kuzma Declines Player Option

 

(Undated)  — A prominent player in the NBA will be testing free agency.  According to ESPN, Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma has declined his 13-million-dollar player option and will become a free agent.  Kuzma told reporters back in April that he would consider returning to Washington.  The 27-year-old is coming off a season where he averaged a career-high 21.2 points to go along with 7.2 rebounds per game.  Kuzma was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 27th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft before being sent to Washington as part of the Russell Westbrook trade.

 

>>Nashville SC At Montreal Tonight

 

(Montreal)  —  Nashville SC is back on the pitch tonight.  The club is north of the border to battle CF Montreal at Saputo Stadium.  Nashville is coming off a weekend win over St. Louis where Hany Mukhtar netted a hat trick.  Nashville SC is second in the Eastern Conference with 35 points and has the best goal difference in the league at plus-15.  Montreal recently beat Minnesota and is ninth in the East with 22 points.

 

>>U.S. Women’s Soccer Announces World Cup Roster

 

(Chicago, IL) — Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe headline the U.S. women’s soccer World Cup roster. The duo was named to a World Cup team for their fourth time and will be joined by more than a dozen players making their debuts. Other familiar names include Julie Ertz and Rose Lavelle . The team will be looking to win its third-straight World Cup after having won in 2015 and 2019. The team’s first match is on July 21st against Vietnam.
