(Seattle, WA) — Major League Baseball is releasing another update of the 2023 All-Star Game voting. Ronald Acuna Jr. leads all players with over 2.2-million votes and is the top vote getter in the National League. Shohei Ohtani leads the American League with over 1.8-million votes. Other notables for the NL are Freddie Freeman, who leads first basemen with over 1.6-million votes, and Corbin Carroll, who jumped into third among NL outfielders. In the AL, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Yandy Diaz are in a tight battle at first base and Bo Bichette dominates AL shortstops with over 1.5-million votes. The All-Star game is slated for July 11th at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

(Undated) — Major League Baseball’s off-site game next year will have no connection to Iowa’s Field of Dreams. The league says a June, 2024 game will pit the St. Louis Cardinals against the San Francisco Giants at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama. The field is the nation’s oldest professional ballpark and former home of the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro Leagues. M-L-B played games in 2021 and 2022 at the Dyersville, Iowa home of the 1989 Kevin Costner film. No game was scheduled this year as the Field of Dreams undergoes renovations.

(Washington, DC) — The Cardinals extended their winning streak following a 9-3 victory over the Nationals in DC. Jordan Montgomery earned the win after surrendering one run on four hits while striking out six batters over seven innings. Dylan Carlson launched a pair of homers and drove in three runs, while Paul DeJong also went yard. St. Louis improved to 31-and-43 and is on a four-game winning streak. The Cards are last in the NL Central, and they put Miles Mikolas on the mound against the Nationals this afternoon.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds extended their winning streak to double digits following an 8-6 victory over the Rockies in Cincinnati. TJ Friedl blasted a three-run homer while Elly De La Cruz and Will Benson also went yard. Alex Young earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning of relief. The Reds have won 10 in a row and are first in the NL Central at 39-and-35. The Reds will try to sweep the series this morning at 11:35 with a pregame show starting at 11:05 on NewsRadio 99.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
