Stolen car recovered in Hopkinsville, driver arrested after foot pursuit

A stolen car was recovered early Tuesday morning in Hopkinsville and the man who had been driving it was arrested after a foot pursuit.

A FLOCK camera hit notified dispatch of the stolen car in the area of McLean Avenue about 3 a.m. and Hopkinsville police officers later located it on East 19th Street.

An arrest citation for 22-year old Trejan Hillsbury of Hopkinsville says he turned onto Woodmill Road after an officer activated his lights and siren and that he then jumped out of the moving vehicle and took off on foot after turning onto Durrett Avenue.

Hillsbury was soon caught and the rolling car came to a stop after crashing into a fence.

Hillsbury is charged with felony receiving stolen property, fleeing or evading police, felony criminal mischief and driving with a suspended license.
