The Hoptown Hoppers were inside Colonel Field Monday morning for the start of their three-day youth baseball camp.
During the camp, the kids were able to participate in drills located in the bullpen, batting cage, and on the field.
Hoppers head coach E.J. Devarie spoke on how it feels to work with he kids and how he feels it also helps his players as well.
Hopper player Dom Oliverio spoke on what working with the baseball youth meant to him.
Oliverio also went on to say that he wants to show the kids how fun the sport of baseball is, and also said that working with the kids helps remind he and the other players about that fun nature of the sport.
The second and third sessions of the camp will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday both starting from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The camp is still taking participants and will offer a prorated price from the original $75 3-day fee.
If anyone is interested in signing up a child as a late edition to the camp, the Hoppers organization asks that you show up to Christian County High School’s baseball field at 8:30 AM the day of camp to register.
Kids are also asked to bring a bat, glove, helmet, and a good attitude.
