The United Way of the Pennyrile is looking ahead to the upcoming fundraising campaign, and announced the new campaign co-chairs at their monthly meeting Monday.
Board members heard an update from United Way President Betsy Bond, who says that the United Way continues to search for ways to expand their outreach to the other counties of the Pennyrile—she says the United Way has had an impact of just over $800,000 in the past fiscal year.
This year’s United Way campaign will undoubtedly bring a little jazz to the event, as Chris Jung and Cody Noffsinger will be helming the initiative as co-chairs with a Blues Brothers theme. Titling it “The Soul of the Pennyrile”, Jung says they were looking for ways to bring a positive impact to the community.
Noffsinger says they’ll need everyone’s help, including the community as whole, to make this campaign a success.
No date has been set on a kick-off event just yet, but planning is already underway.
In other action, the Board of Directors bid farewell to outgoing board members and welcomed a slate of new officers, including Lana Bastin as board chair, Kristin Knight as treasurer and Tab Brockman will be past chair.
