Hopkinsville man arrested on assault, strangulation charges

A Hopkinsville man is charged with assault and strangulation following an alleged incident from Thursday at a North Main Street home.

An arrest citation for 33-year old James Overton of Hopkinsville alleges he struck his girlfriend on the back of the head, threw her down and pulled her back inside as she tried to leave the residence. Overton allegedly put the victim in a choke hold and restricted her breathing.
