A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 8 this morning and forecasters say there is a heightened fire danger this afternoon through Friday.
Visibility will be a quarter-mile or less in some places this morning due to the fog and motorists will want to allow some extra time for their commute.
Meanwhile, relative humidities will be very low at 15 to 30 percent and north winds will gust from 10 to 15 mph through Friday afternoon, meaning any fires that develop will spread quickly.
Don’t toss cigarettes from vehicles, inspect trailers for any dragging chains that could cause sparks and avoid outdoor burning if at all possible.
