All of the winners have been identified from Saturday’s Take Kids Fishing event at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville.
Pennyrile RC&D Coordinator Charles Turner says the largest fish was a 25-inch catfish reeled in by T.J. Lowry in the 9-11 age division. Kayla Saintlouis had the largest fish at 18 and a half inches in the 12-15 age group, Jaida Rogers won the 6-8 age group with a 20 and a half inch catfish and Brently Neighbors won the youngest age group with a 24 and a half inch catfish.
Emory Marks caught the most fish in the 3 to 5 age division, Destiny Love caught the most in ages 6 to 8, Makenna Allen in 9 to 11 and Labar Daniel in the 12 to 15 age group.
The smallest fish of the day was three inches and it was caught by Inani Hickman. Jarvis Bush, Brixon Mason, Elle Murphy and Scyler Stubbs also won their respective age groups in the smallest fish contests.
In the casting competition the winners in their age divisions were Tim Brown, Lydia Davis, Taria Turner and Sophia McGee. The fast-reeling competition awards were presented to Shaquwone McKnight, Cameron Mitchell, Jeremy White and T.J. Blanton.
It was the 22nd annual Take Kids Fishing event and hundreds of children and their families gathered around the lake on the Jeffers Bend property, or lined Little River.
