Hundreds of boys and girls and their families were at Jeffers Bend Saturday morning for Take Kids Fishing.
Charles Turner with Pennyrile R C & D and Jeffers Bend says it was a good day with nearly perfect weather.
Over 400 kids had registered by 10 a.m. and were still coming in through the morning.
Some large catfish were coming out of the big pond and out of Little River—especially early—and Turner says some of the larger ones affectionally known as “Big Jeff” have been pulled out of those waters before.
This year’s Take Kids Fishing also featured water activities, a casting competition and lunch for the youngsters and their families.
