Unemployment dropped from March to April in all nine Pennyrile counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate was 4.1 percent, down from 4.5 in March and down from 4.6 one year ago.
That equated to 1,037 people who were looking for work, but were unable to find it.
Todd County has the second-lowest jobless rate in the region at 2.7 percent, down from 3.6 percent in March and down from 2.9 percent in April of 2022.
The jobless rate in Trigg County was 3.5 percent, down a 1.1 percent from March and six tenths from a year ago.
Muhlenberg County had the region’s highest unemployment rate at 5.1 percent and Caldwell had the lowest at 2.5.
The state average was 3.2 percent and the national number was 3.1.
