Press release from CCPS
Christian County High School Athletic Director Trey Wheeler has announced Austin Knight has been selected as the new head coach for the Colonels golf program. Knight currently serves as the head coach of the HHS Tigers. Knight will continue in that role and serve as coach for both boys’ programs.
“I am honored to be chosen as the head coach at CCHS along with continuing to coach at HHS as well,” said Coach Austin Knight. “ I am excited to take on the role of helping to shape our youth in the sport of golf, while also helping them become successful young men in our community. I want to thank Trey Wheeler, Blake Leach, and Kerry Stovall for this opportunity to lead both programs, and I am excited for the future of high school golf in our town.”
Knight is a graduate of HHS where he played golf and was named to the All-State golf team. He went on to play golf at the collegiate level at Murray State University and was a 4-time OVC Player of the Week. Knight has played in numerous tournaments and is a member of the KY Golf Association Board.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Knight as our Head Boys Golf Coach,” said AD Trey Wheeler. “We feel his knowledge and expertise in coaching golf will serve as a great experience for our athletes, and we are looking forward to him developing and growing our boys golf program.”
