Polls opened at 6 a.m. across Kentucky on this Primary Election Day as Democrats and Republicans choose nominees for the state’s constitutional officers.
Christian County Clerk Melinda Humphries says there was a delay getting started at the South Christian Elementary School voting center and a few other minor issues that you might expect.
Humphries confirmed that the South Christian issues were fixed and voting was going normally there.
All of those other issues were also resolved quickly.
Todd County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan says early turnout has been slow and she also reports a few glitches with the technology used to sign in at their precincts, but nothing that would prevent anyone from filling out a ballot.
There are 16 centers in Christian County where Democrats and Republicans can vote Tuesday. Those are the Bruce Convention Center, the courthouse, senior center, Oak Grove Community Center, Indian Hills Elementary, New Barren Springs Church, New Palestine Baptist Church, Friendship House, Sinking Fork Baptist Church, Pembroke Baptist Church, Crofton City Hall, South Christian Elementary, Walnut Street Center, Concord Baptist Church, Cedar Grove Baptist Church and Hopkinsville Middle School.
Todd County maintains its traditional precincts, with no changes from November.
Trigg County voters can cast their ballot at the Cerulean Volunteer Fire Department, East Golden Pond Fire Department, South Road Fire Department, Trigg-Lyon Fire Department, The Way, Emergency Operations Center, and Trigg County Recreation Complex.
The state Attorney General’s Office is encouraging Kentuckians to report any suspected irregularities that they may see related to voting. You can report any suspicion to the state’s Election Fraud Hotline. at 1-800-328-VOTE.
Polls are open until 6 p.m. across the commonwealth and anyone standing in line at 6 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
