University Heights Academy Preston Thomas signed his letter of intent to play collegiate soccer at Asbury University on Thursday evening.
Thomas was surrounded by family and friends at the Planters Bank- Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex while celebrating this special moment.
This past fall Thomas scored 18 goals almost averaging a goal per game, while also dishing out 11 assists. To add to that, he also was a key contributor to the basketball team, but explains why he wanted to pursue soccer over basketball in college.
Thomas says that picking Asbury felt like a good choice due to the coaching staff and players and the atmosphere that they provide.
The Asbury Eagles finished with an 8-6-4 record and Thomas is expecting to pick up right where he left off in high school and score goals, as he intends to be a striker for the team.
