Pandemic emergency ends in nation, Kentucky

As the national COVID pandemic emergency officially ends, Kentucky will be affected in many of the same ways as the other 49 states.

Kentucky Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack says the COVID activity tracking maps will be removed from state websites, as the federal government is no longer tracking the data.

Governor Andy Beshear noted during his Team Kentucky update Thursday that the final map shows how far the state and country have come.

The governor also paid special tribute to American sign language interpreter Virginia Moore, who died Saturday, noting her leadership during the pandemic to be sure every news conference had an interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing had a nationwide impact.

Governor Beshear and the first lady voted early Thursday in Frankfort and he encouraged all Kentuckians to vote early or on Tuesday, May 16—Primary Election Day.
