A lightning strike caused heavy damage to the home of former Todd County Judge-Executive Kent Knight on Hadden Mill Road Monday morning.
Elkton firefighters were called to the residence in the 3500 block of Hadden Mill about 6:40 a.m. and found fire in the basement.
Officials say the blaze was extinguished with heavy damage reported to the underside of the first floor.
No one was injured and the Sharon Grove Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
