HPD arrests man for allegedly cutting fence to get on business property

An arrest was made Sunday night after a man allegedly cut a fence to get on the property of Brandon’s Towing on North Main Street in Hopkinsville.

The owner of the business called ECC after seeing a man cutting the fence on his security cameras and arriving Hopkinsville police officers found 36-year old Johnathon Maldonado of Hopkinsville between the outer fence and the perimeter barbed wire fence surrounding the property.

The arrest citation says he was wearing thick work gloves and he had a flashlight and cutting tools with him. His vehicle was parked at Riverside Cemetery backed up to the fence and there were additional cutting tools inside the automobile, according to the report.

Maldonado was arrested for attempted burglary in the third-degree and possession of burglary tools.
