Defense getting discovery in Sharpe Street murder case

The defense team will soon have all of the evidence to look over in the murder case of Mory Burse, the man accused in the 2021 shooting death of Devon Kendrick on Sharpe Street in Hopkinsville.

Special prosecutor Jill Giordano said during a hearing Monday morning that she’ll have the discovery to attorney Ramon McGee by the end of this week.

Circuit Judge Andrew Self later scheduled the next pre-trial conference for May 15.

Burse is alleged to have used a 9 mm handgun to shoot the 48-year-old Kendrick multiple times in the torso and arms just before midnight July 28, 2021 at a location behind the East Ninth Street Dollar General on Sharpe Street.
