This Saturday, the Pembroke Ruritan Club is welcoming people to the old Pembroke school gymnasium for their annual pork chop dinner and auction.
Appearing on the WHOP Early Bird Show Monday morning, Pembroke Mayor Jeanette Aldridge and former Magistrate and Ruritan member Jack Lackey says Pembroke will be the place to be this Saturday. The dinner starts at 5 p.m. and the auction gets underway at 6:30 p.m.
Aldridge says there are plenty of items to bid on, with a little something for everyone available.
Lackey says the money raised goes back into funding needs in the community.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased ahead of time from a club member or at the door that day. Aldridge says they’ve been very pleased with the support from local businesses and individuals, who have donated items to the auction and the dinner.
