Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is joining more than 40 GOP senators to oppose raising the debt ceiling unless there’s substantial spending and budget reform.
The Kentucky Republican signed onto a letter addressed to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
So far Schumer and President Biden have refused to discus fiscal reform in order to raise the debt limit, which could potentially cause the U.S. to default on its debt as early as June if Congress doesn’t take action.
