Louisville’s top prosecutor has died, following a short illness.
Governor Andy Beshear was among those Saturday expressing his sadness at the passing of Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Wine.
The governor said, “I am grateful for his many years of service to the commonwealth. Please join Britainy and me in praying for his family.”
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said, “Tom served our city as Commonwealth Attorney with honor, dedication and compassion.”
Wine had served in that capacity since 2012 and sources close to Wine told WDRB TV that he had been diagnosed with cancer only a couple weeks ago.
