Heavy rain, gusty wind and large hail were all reported with a series of severe thunderstorms that moved across the region Sunday and the severe threat continues today.
Trigg, Christian and Todd County were under multiple severe thunderstorm warnings at times through the afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service in Paducah received reports of large hail near Herndon, where it was nearly two inches in diameter, and about two miles northwest of Cadiz.
Water was standing in many of the usual places, but no major flooding was reported.
Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith received a report of damage to trees and to the roof of a barn on Coal Bank Road in a storm early in the afternoon.
Pennyrile Electric crews were busy, with just over 1,000 members out at one time.
No injuries were reported with the storms.
Western Kentucky is under a slight risk for severe weather again Monday afternoon and evening, and while damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threat, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
