Clarksville Fire and Rescue went above and beyond the call of duty Saturday morning, rescuing a dog who had become trapped in a storm drain.
The Dotson named Oskar had been chasing a possum at Valleybrook Park near Crossland Avenue when he went into the drain and he couldn’t get out and his owners couldn’t retrieve him.
Officials say firefighters set up a tripod and dropped into the drain to retrieve Oskar and he was reunited with his owner.
The possum, whose name remains unknown if he has one, was able to evade capture.
