>>Cardinals Comeback Falls Short

(St. Louis, MO)  —  The Cardinals ended the game with five unanswered runs but still lost to the Los Angeles Angels 11-7 at Busch Stadium.  After taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, the Cardinals surrendered four runs in the top of the second and six more in the third.  Jake Flaherty was charged with his fourth loss after allowing ten runs on nine his in just two-and-a-third innings of work.  Tommy Edman hit a three-run home run in the losing effort.  The Cardinals are still at the bottom of the NL Central at 10-and-22.  They send Jordan Montgomery to the mound against the Detroit Tigers tonight.

(Undated)  —  The Bats and Sounds won their Minor League Baseball games while the Redbirds dropped theirs.  Louisville outslugged Omaha 12-10 after plating eight runs over the first three innings.  The Bats are now 12-and-17.  Nashville edged St. Paul 10-8 in extra innings after Abraham Toro drove in a pair of runs.  The Sounds improved to 16-and-13.  Memphis fell to Jacksonville 9-5 after surrendering five runs in the fourth inning.  The Redbirds dropped to 20-and-10.  All three teams continue their series tonight.
