A man is dead following an apartment fire over the weekend in Marshall County.
Firefighters and deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to the blaze at 7711 US 641 N in Gilbertsville about 3:20 p.m. Saturday and deputies found a deceased male in an apartment where the fire is believed to have begun.
The victim has been identified as 69-year old Kevin Frey of Gilbertsville.
A news release says multiple agencies are continuing to investigate the cause of death and cause of fire, but police do not currently believe there to be any malicious acts that led to the incidents.
