A stolen van was recovered early Monday morning in Madisonville and the driver was arrested.
A Madisonville police officer saw a red 1999 Chevy Venture that had been reported stolen at the Ideal gas station on East Center Street about 3 a.m. and a computer check revealed it was the correct vehicle.
The driver, 28-year old Carmen Slaton of Madisonville, claimed she had borrowed the vehicle from a friend, according to the arrest citation.
Further investigation determined her license was suspended and she was wanted on warrants for contempt of court and failure to appear in court.
Slaton was served with those warrants and arrested on new charges of felony receiving stolen property and driving with a suspended license.
