With numerous job opportunities coming to the region with announcements of Ascend Elements, Microvast and more, the Southwestern Kentucky Economic Development Council is encouraging people to apply.
Executive Director Carter Hendricks says in roughly a year there will be over 1,000 jobs available through those industries.
He says there will be a need for over 300 engineers alone in the region, and the EDC is working to make sure people from all walks of life are aware of the opportunities.
They’ve launched their Job Seekers website, which can be found on southwesternky.com.
Hendricks says they continue work for improvements to local infrastructure to meet the demand these industries will bring, including in Commerce Park #2 and a lot of those improvements will be funded through the state and other grants—just another boon economic development brings to the area.
