More Kentuckians receiving mental health crisis care with 988 hotline

More Kentuckians facing a mental health crisis are getting help and getting help faster since the national 988 crisis hotline became active.

It’s easier to remember than the previous 10-digit number and Governor Andy Beshear says mor people have called since the implementation in July and more people are staying on the line to speak to a local professional.

He says Kentucky is performing better than the national average at getting a counselor on the phone with the person experiencing a crisis quickly.

Again, if you are experiencing thoughts of suicide or are having some other type of mental health crisis, you can simply dial 988 for help.
