MLB Update 4-28-23

>>Braves To Halt Big Hat Celebration

The Atlanta Braves are putting an end to their new home run celebration.  The Braves have been wearing a “big hat” in the dugout following home runs, but must put an end to the celebration due to “a complaint from the league’s official on-field hat manufacturer.”  New Era nixed the celebration because they do not produce the hat.  The Braves will have to find a new way to celebrate going deep, as they currently sit third in Major League Baseball with 40 homers this season.

>>Cardinals Shutout Giants To Avoid Sweep

The Cardinals shut out the Giants 6-0 to avoid the series sweep in San Francisco.  Alec Burleson and Paul DeJong each homered for the Cardinals to help the team snap a three-game losing skid.  Miles Mikolas earned his first win of the season after striking out six over six-and-a-third scoreless frames.  The Cardinals sit last in the NL Central at 10-and-16, and they send Jack Flaherty to the mound as they begin a series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles tonight
