Former Hopkinsville Tiger Jamarion Sharp transfers to Ole Miss

Jamarion Sharp is headed to the SEC.

Earlier today, Sharp posted on his Instagram that he would be using his last year of NCAA eligibility to play for the Ole Miss Rebels.

After spending his first two years polishing his skills playing  junior college basketball at John A Logan, he went Division 1 and transferred to Western Kentucky for two years. Sharp then gained national attention due to his 7’5″ stature but quickly backed up his height after averaging the most blocks in the country for two straight seasons.

In this past year Sharp averaged 7.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 4.1 blocks per game. On top of this,  he was the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, and a member of the All-Defensive Team and Third Team All-Conference.

The Hoptown native will look to provide his elite defense and finishing at the rim in the SEC for head coach Chris Beard in both of their first seasons in Oxford.
