National Drinking Water Week proclaimed, Association of Realtors donates to Take Kids Fishing Day

National Drinking Water Week is coming up starting May 6 and a proclamation was held Wednesday morning at the Pennyrile RC&D meeting at Jeffers’ Bend Environmental Center.

Charles Turner with Jeffers’ Bend says its important to highlight the vital need of clean drinking water not just locally, but across the state and nation.

He says they will have some activities taking place during Water Week, but they’ll also have plenty of water themed activities set for May 27, during Take Kids Fishing Day.

During the meeting, the Christian and Todd County Board of Realtors presented Jeffers’ Bend with a check for $242, with Missy Craft saying that money will help around 80 children by covering the cost of entry that day.

The proclamation for National Drinking Water Week was presented by Hopkinsville Mayor JR Knight, Christian Fiscal Court Magistrate Magaline Ferguson, Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority Supervisor Nikki Chambers, a representative from the Governor’s Office and Kyle Cunningham with the Pennyrile Area Development District.
