Man accused of first-degree assault arraigned in district court

The man accused of assaulting a woman with a pair of brass knuckles was arraigned in Christian District Court Monday afternoon.

Forty-year-old Bobbie Dupin of Hopkinsville is charged with assault in the first degree after he allegedly struck a 22-year-old female victim in the face while wearing brass knuckles on April 21 in the 1100 block of West Seventh Street.

District Judge Foster Cotthoff entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf, set a preliminary hearing for May 1 and left Dupin’s bond at $50,000.

The victim was knocked unconscious by the assault and had to be taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
