>>Reds Swept By Pirates

(Pittsburgh, PA)  —  The Reds got swept by the Pirates after a 2-0 loss in Pittsburgh.  Hunter Greene got saddled with the loss after surrendering a run on four hits over six innings.  Wil Myers had two of Cincy’s four hits.  The team dropped to 7-and-15 and is still last in the NL Central.  Cincinnati opens a three-game series with the Rangers at home tonight.  Nick Lodolo takes the mound while Nathan Eovaldi gets the nod for Texas.

 

>>Cardinals Crush Mariners, Avoid Sweep

(Seattle, WA)  —  The Cardinals avoided a three-game sweep in Seattle after crushing the Mariners 7-3 in the series finale at T-Mobile Park.  Nolan Gorman clubbed a three-run homer, while Lars Nootbaar and Paul DeJong hit solo shots for St. Louis.  Jack Flaherty tossed six innings of three-run ball as he evened his record at 2-and-2.  The Cardinals remain in fourth-place in the NL Central at 9-and-13.  Jordan Montgomery takes the hill for St. Louis against the Giants in San Francisco tonight.

(Undated)  —  The Redbirds, Bats and Sounds each dropped their series finales.  Memphis fell to Indianapolis 6-4 and took five-of-six games against the Indians.  The Redbirds are 15-and-6.  Louisville lost to Charlotte 6-5 and earned four-of-six wins against the Knights.  The Bats are 7-and-13.  Nashville dropped its last game to Jacksonville 3-2 and took two-of-five against the Jumbo Shrimp.  The Sounds fell to 10-and-10.  All three teams begin a new series tomorrow.  Memphis heads to Durham, Louisville is in Iowa and Nashville hosts Omaha.
